Custom Kitchen with Wood Finishing

When you renovate a kitchen, it’s important to match the kitchen design to the type of house. The kitchen designs are so abundant with cottage, farmhouse, modern, traditional, and so on, that it’s tough to figure out which ones to do some times. In this case, we had an old home that was mostly remodeled back in 2015, but nothing was update in the kitchen or dining room spaces. Last week, we worked on a project with the company, Saratoga General Contractors, to renovate an old traditional style kitchen, modernize it, and put in custom cabinets with a wood stain finish. The old cabinetry was a warm, oak color which didn’t really go with the overall vibe. The new additions and renovated areas of the house provide a more luxury feel with LED lighting and expensive finishing. To match the new appearance, we installed a hardened wood that was sealed and then painted black. The matte black finish offers an elegant contrast against the white island and granite countertop. The cabinets are in, but still have to finish renovating the dining room area and installing custom shelving on the walls.

The homeowner is also looking to build a gazebo in the backyard. For Saratoga, their lawn space is actually quite large. But it may look strange to have a gazebo depending on the size. We’re working on creating some design specifications that go with the size of the house. If the we do end up mving forward on that project, the homeowner has requested white railings in an octagonal shape with lattice-style cross patterns below the rails. The asphalt shingle, shaped and pointed roof will need to match the Victorian style of the outside of the house.
